Producers also welcome you to the many country markets. Every morning, from Tuesday to Sunday, there is a market at least in one village of Haute-Saintonge.
It is a real pleasure to stroll around the stalls with flamboyant colors, with very fresh products and to leave with the contents for your next meal(s) while indulging yourself.
Covered markets, markets under halls, in village squares … it’s always a great idea for a stroll.
Another good plan, the shops of local products and the producers’ stores. Tourist offices, tourist sites such as the Maison de la Vigne in Archiac, the Maison de la Forêt in Montlieu, favor locally produced references in their shops. Haute-Saintonge has good products, with a wealth of varieties and we must make it known!
In Jonzac, in the producers’ store “Les Délices de Saintonge”, more than sixty short-circuit producers are listed. Vegetables, yoghurts, condiments, breads, meats, aromatic plants… etc… It is impossible not to find something to feast on!
