More details
As you pass through the villages you will discover their churches and the richness of the Romanesque heritage of the Haute-Saintonge region.
Along the way, you will be able to observe many varieties of plants and flowers such as the Belchnum fern, characteristic of shady and humid undergrowth, or many species of heather. And for the more observant, if you look closely, you will find drosera, small carnivorous plants.
This wide variety of plants is an invitation to butterflies, which are very present here (the Sedge, the Beautiful Argus, the Lemon, the Day Peacock, the Piéride...).
At the Robinson Pond, a stopover is essential to contemplate the nature present but also to water your horse. A fountain has been restored there, right next to the equestrian stop.
Finally, when you arrive at the Baron-Desqueyroux lake in Montendre, you can leave your horse at the equestrian stopover to take a dip in the water or in the leisure pool and enjoy the many activities that take place in summer. For the clever ones, you can also try to solve the enigmas of the d'Artagnan escape at the Mysterra Park.
Of course, you can have a drink or a meal on site.
The horse stops are equipped with a hut, a tether, picnic tables and waste bins. The best part is that bivouacs are allowed.
