Departure from the village hall: head towards the church, go down the steps and follow the GR360 to the right, the road becomes a path, continue between the crops for 1km, then turn left between the copses towards the Meussac hill for 2km.
At the water tower, continue towards Pérignac on the D144, 200m and turn left (near the hamlet of Le Fleuret) for 1km until you reach the motocross track. Panoramic view of the hillsides.
At the crossroads choose the left-hand path, go down for 1.4km then turn left towards Figers where you will find the GR360.
Cross the D144 and turn left onto a dirt track. Cross a stream between groves and go up towards the Malabri water tower.
Continue towards Échebrune.
Variant: from one castle to another 8 km
At the Meussac water tower, turn left and go down rue de la Mairie. Then turn right into rue des ceps, a dirt track goes up and through a wood.
At the end of the wood, turn left onto a small tree-lined road and go down into the hamlet of Puy Haut until the junction with the D144 opposite the Protestant church.
Go around the temple to the left and down a path for 1km. At the star junction some 200m after a copse take the 2nd turning on the right to go to the Malabri water tower.
Then turn left to return to Echebrune.
