More details
Start from the church. Follow the direction of Courpignac for 50m then turn right onto the white road.
Continue on a tarmac road, fork right towards Chez Curous, when you reach the houses, continue on the white track which goes down to the left into the undergrowth. The path enters the wood, at the intersection, turn left, the path goes down to the road (on the left the pond of Allas).
Follow the road to the right, walk 100m and leave it by a small path that goes up to the right in the wood. For a few hundred metres, the small path zigzags between fallen and cut trees before joining a wider path which you take on the left.
At the end of the wood, follow the path to the right, leaving the place called chez Ridois on the left. In the wood, at the crossroads, go straight on. When you reach the road, follow the main road back to Agudelle.
Worth knowing:
The Allas pond, dug by the monks in the 17th century, is one of the largest bodies of water in Charente-Maritime. A true reservoir of biodiversity, it is the property of the Departmental Fishing Federation and is closed to fishing, but it is home to the species that feed the departmental fish farm under a special management plan;
Every winter, the pond is gradually emptied. Each winter, the pond is progressively emptied. The fish thus taken will supply the rivers and streams. A few selected fine specimens will return to the pond for reproduction.
