More details
Two possible departures and three circuits:
Departure from the church in Germignac for the small circuit of "La vallée" of 5km or the big circuit "La vallée et le moulin" of 10km which will lead you to Cierzac.
Departure from the church in Cierzac for the small circuit of "Moulin Enragé" of 5km or the big circuit "The valley and the mill" of 10km which will lead you to Germignac.
Parking in front of the church in Germignac, walk around the church and turn right. Turn right into rue du Nord, cross the D128, take chemin du Peu. Continue through the vineyards and go down towards Beaulieu, a 15th century manor house (dovecote listed as a MH).
Leave the small road on the estate and take the path on the right parallel to the Né (curtain of poplars), walk for 800m and turn right (marker further on a screwed tree).
At the crossroads, turn right and then follow a track on the left which climbs towards Germignac, with the silo opposite (junction for the long circuit: turn left towards Cierzac).
Cross the D128, to catch the rue Grande Maison on the right which you follow until you get back behind the church.
Moulin Enragé, departure from Cierzac church: continue along the rue de l'Église. 200m after the cemetery, at the crow's feet, turn right towards the stream.
Cross it, go left between the meadows and then cross the road to take a white path for 500m. Turn right into the vineyards for 350m then left.
At the junction, turn left then right and climb to the D128. Follow it to the right for 150m and turn left towards the Domaine de la Hutte.
At the crossroads (junction towards Germignac to complete the long circuit by turning left). Enter Cierzac by turning right, cross the wood due east then at the exit, follow the Né on the right and return to the starting point.
Discover :
Situated in the Né valley, the church of Cierzac has a Romanesque facade that seems almost fragile between the powerful buttresses that frame it and the austere gable that overhangs it. But it reveals the age of the building, which, despite numerous alterations, has managed to preserve its authentic charm.
