Our amateur club works to learn, practice and promote bookbinding. It opens its doors to anyone wishing to practice this ancestral and artisanal skill that is bookbinding, in the canons of the profession.

In Saint-Martial de Mirambeau, the association "Reliure de l'Estuaire" works on learning, practising and passing on the art of bookbinding.
A craft par excellence, combining technical skills and creativity, bookbinding has never ceased to evolve, following the technical innovations, artistic trends and ideas of its time.
Today, it is still synonymous with research and dynamism. It is a somewhat mysterious, but very exciting profession!
In our club, we do all types of bookbinding, using both traditional and modern techniques.
A wide range of possibilities allows each practitioner to combine originality and artistic sense. Thus, this craft activity allows everyone to design a book, or to renovate one that the years will have marked, a work that can be kept or given as a gift.
Both beginners and enthusiasts will find something to their liking.
The aim of these open afternoons is to give our visitors an insight into how to create a book. Thus, you will discover some of the stages of its realization, some of the materials used.
You will also see some of the work done by club members.
