On the hill overlooking the Seugne valley, beaten by the wind, the place is ideal for a mill. In 1761 the wings of the mill began to turn. Restored to its original state by the town of Jonzac in 2001, it now welcomes you.
The windmill of Cluzelet is close to the watermill of chez Bret, since in times of drought the miller had to join him to ensure the continuity of flour production. The Cluzelet mill dominates the hillside, offering a remarkable panorama over the town of Jonzac and the valley.
Just listen to it and you will be able to rediscover feelings from the past and learn all about the mastery of the winds and the mechanisms of the mill.
The ancient techniques will be explained to you and you will understand the traditional manufacturing processes during your visit. The path of the grain and the work of the grinding wheel will no longer hold any secrets for you and why not leave with flour that makes exceptional pancakes because the windmill of Cluzelet is one of the few mills in France that still makes flour.
You may also see many graffiti on the walls of the mill, traces left by the ancients, among them boats.
