Jonzac is a young spa. It was in the early 1980s that a borehole was drilled to a depth of over 1600 metres, allowing us to reach water rich in trace elements. Until then, the water had been protected by thick layers of clay for over 200 million years. This water, extracted at nearly 60°, has been used since 1985 for thermal cures.
The thermal baths were built in the old limestone quarries of Heurtebise. This is how the troglodytic thermal baths came into being, with their muffled atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The lighting highlights the huge limestone columns, the treatment system guarantees excellent air quality. The thermal treatments are provided in modern rooms and cabins with all the know-how of the Chaîne Thermale du Soleil.
A range of more than 26 thermal treatments are provided, such as automatic individual manosonic sprays to treat the respiratory tract, general penetrating showers and other clay cataplasms to relieve rheumatism, or a walking corridor and specific massages to provide a certain wellbeing in case of phlebology.
