En détail
This year, the 35th edition of the international Eurochestries festival welcomes 340 musicians aged between 15 and 25, from 11 different countries, for more than 60 concerts in different towns in the Charente-Maritime, Charente and Gironde regions.
More than just a 'classical' festival, this international festival of youth orchestras has several strands:
- the "academy" component: in the morning, all the musicians are brought together in a mix of nationalities in two large symphonic orchestras, for a concert in the evening.
symphony orchestras, to work with professional conductors and prepare for the festival's closing concerts.
the festival's closing concerts.
- the "dissemination" section: the musicians perform in concert with their own groups and their own programmes in various towns, particularly in the south of France.
programme, in different towns and cities, particularly in rural areas.
- the "interculturality" aspect: all the young people are housed at the Lycée in Pons, and the activities are designed to enable them to get to know each other, discover the local heritage and meet the local population.
International fraternity, the transmission of values and cultural exchanges form the philosophy of the festival.
Not to be missed: The closing concerts in Jonzac and Pons, bringing together all the musicians taking part in the festival and the orchestra conductors.
