Introducing the "Sankofa" group:
Since 1997, supported by the arrangements of Mathieu Lucas, the vocal ensemble "Sankofa" draws its strength from the meeting of five people passionate about negro-spiritual and a cappella singing. The group has been in a constant state of human renewal. Over the years, this has given this very special project its own sound and universe.
To raise awareness of a cappella singing.
Giving a different vision of gospel, jazz, contemporary and traditional music. From different cultural backgrounds, the five singers of "Sankofa" have been able to combine their respective sensibilities to give their concerts a cross-cultural tone.
The projects are many...
Today, "Sankofa" is working on a new energy for the group, concentrating on new songs that move away from the gospel repertoire but retain the same colour tinged with jazz sounds and world nuances.
The future carries us forward and illuminates our present...
